Harry Zier knew about leadership and training and teams.  As a student athlete he was so talented  he was later inducted into the Walla Walla, Washington High School Athletic Hall of Fame.  His talents matured in college and  later in life was inducted into the Eastern Washington University Athletic Hall of Fame.  As a teacher, coach and administrator Harry influenced many while spending 22 years at Wenatchee, Washington High School.  Posthumously, he was inducted into the Wenatchee High School Athletic Hall of Fame. As with natural born athletes, there may be some natural born leaders but they are often dangerous unless there is a commitment to harness and train the raw intellect, charisma and energy.  Harry was a natural born athlete.  But he proved through his life as a humble, yet influential leader that there is more to life than mere athletic talent.  Harry was my coach, my friend, life teacher and the father of my wife.  Harry knew almost instinctively how to get the best out of others.  He knew how to train young people for the sports arena but even more importantly he knew how to train them for life too.  (He's number 6 in the picture)
